Create New Session – Bulk Session (web)

A Bulk Session enables you to easily make changes to a group of animals in bulk. Examples of such changes include-
  1. Moving the animals (by updating their Property and/or Paddock)
  2. Updating attributes such as Mob or Class
  3. Marking animals as Preg Tested or Joined
  4. Applying Treatments
  5. Changing animals from 'Active' to 'Missing'
  6. Exiting animals
Like all StockMate sessions, once created, a Bulk Session may be edited or added to via the Scan Session on the web or the app. Refer to Edit Existing Session – using Bulk Edit (web) or Edit Existing Session – using Import/Export CSV (web) for web instructions and Edit Existing Session (app) for the app.
  1. Select Sessions, + New Scan Session, New Bulk Handling Session/New Bulk Exit Session.

  2. Enter Session Name, select Date and Sub Type (optional).


  3. Select the Search Criteriareport configuration, Load to generate the list of animals that meet the criteria.
    The report configuration is able to be customised. Refer Report Configurations for detailed instructions.

    To select existing animals to be included in a Bulk Session, type in the Session Code or use  to access the Session Lists and select from Sessions. If manually entering more than one Session Code, they must be separated by a comma.

    To move animals, the Property and Paddock must be selected within the Search Criteria.
    Animals that have not been seen (scanned) for a certain period of time can be added to a Bulk Exit – Missing Session and receive a Status of ‘Missing’ by entering the number of days in the Last Scanned Search Criteria. 

  4. Select required animals. Select Continue to Scan Values.

  5. Select values to update on all animals.
  6. To add a Treatment, select Add. Enter the Treatment fields.

    Dose refers to the number of units per animal.

  7. Select Create session with Scans for X selected animals.

    The Bottle ID field is specific for items with a Bottle ID, like Bovilis.
    The Expiry Date can be applied via Bulk Session.
  8. Once the session is created, you have the option to View Created Session.
