Download NLIS Devices Purchased
This article outlines the steps required to use StockMate to download the Devices Purchased detail from the NLIS database to StockMate.
Some businesses will choose to download this detail whenever NLIS tags are purchased, while others may choose not to use this function at all.
There are two primary reasons a business may choose to download Devices Purchased.
- To link the NLIS ID to the EID/RFID immediately.
When the device is applied to an animal in future, both values will be present in StockMate even if only the EID is scanned or if only the NLIS ID is typed. This can be particularly helpful in future in the case of replacing a non-scanning NLIS device. - To associate a Visual Tag with a NLIS device immediately.
For businesses that purchase NLIS devices with a linked Visual Tag, the Devices Purchased download process allows the user to record Visual Tag information against each device immediately. When the device is applied to the animal in future, the Visual Tag information is populated without having to be manually typed.

- Select Search Criteria, Load.
You can search by Issue and/or Used Date Range.
Issue Date: Refers to
the date the Device was issued. This date was originally provided by the
NLIS database. Searching by Issue Date Range allows you to identify the
devices you have purchased within that date range and downloaded to
StockMate.
Used Date: Refers to the date the device was used in
StockMate (i.e. applied to an animal). A blank Used Date means the
device has not yet been applied to an animal. Searching by Used Date
Range allows you to identify the devices you have applied to animals.
Also, knowing the number of devices not yet applied could be useful to
know when to re-order more NLIS Devices.
- Review the report results. Download if desired.
