Edit Existing Session – using Import/Export CSV (web)

The Import CSV function can be used to add or edit Imported, Scanned or Bulk Sessions entered via the web or the app.
Data can be added or edited in a selected Session by:
  1. exporting a CSV of the existing Session information,
  2. editing the desired fields and
  3. importing the CSV file containing the updated information.

Exporting a CSV file for an Existing Session

  1. Select Sessions to view the Session List. To narrow the search, input Session Name, Type, Property, Date Range or Source. Select Search.
Filter further by selecting the Filter Icon and typing Session Name, Code, Type, or Session Property.

  2. Select the required Session for which you wish to add or edit data.

  3. Select Import/Export CSVImport/Export Scans.

  4. Select Export Scans to CSV. The CSV file will be downloaded to your PC.

Editing the downloaded CSV file

Edit via CSV results in a complete overwrite of the field value. StockMate does not record the original value entered in the session. To maintain a copy of the data prior to Edits, it is recommended to save a copy of the Exported file before continuing.
  1. Locate downloaded CSV file on your PC. Open it.

  2. Add or edit the fields as required, Save the file in CSV format.
    In this example, we will:
    a. add a value in the Class field, to all records as this may have been missed in the Exit Session.
    b.  add a mob to five animals.

Do not change the format of any of the data in the downloaded CSV file, otherwise it will cause errors on import into StockMate.

Importing a CSV file for an Existing Session

  1. Follow Steps 1 - 3 from the Exporting a CSV file for an Existing Session.
  2. On the Import/Export Scans screen, select Browse...

  3. Locate the file on your PC, select Open, select Import X Records.
If there are any errors on importing, select Download Errors to investigate and amend the errors before re-importing the CSV file.
  4. The updated data for the selected animals will be visible in StockMate.
For a listing of the fields included in the Import CSV files, refer to Import CSV – Input Information (web) for further information.
