Setup Tru-Test XR3000 Weigh Scale (and EID Reader)
The TruTest XR3000 Weigh Scale indicator can be used with a Bluetooth enabled EID reader. The process involves:
- Pairing the EID reader to the Weigh Scale indicator so that the Weigh Scale indicator is holding EID and weight information.
- Connecting the Weigh Scale indicator to the Tablet by one of three methods (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or USB serial cable) so that weight and EID information is transmitted to StockMate during processing.
- Editing hardware configuration in StockMate so that it reflects the physical setup.
Bluetooth: EID over Weigh Scale
Weigh Scale Indicator Tru-Test XR3000
- Turn on the XR3000. Plug it into the power source.
- Press the Setup key. The Weighing Setup screen opens.
- Find the double arrow >> and press the blue key underneath.
- Find the Serial tab and press the blue key underneath.
- The Serial Setup screen opens. Find the B.TOOTH tab and press the blue key underneath.
- On the Bluetooth setup screen there should be a tick next to BLUETOOTH. If there is an X then press the Enter key and use the arrow keys to change to a tick.
- The XR3000 is now ready to be paired.
EID reader
- Turn on the EID reader, pair to the XR3000. Refer to your EID Reader Manual for specifics or Hardware Connections Overview (app).
When the connection is established, the blue light on the Weigh Scale indicator stops flashing.
Do not pair the EID reader to the tablet - it should only be paired to the Weigh Scale indicator.
Pairing Device
- From the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).
- Tap the Bluetooth icon.
- Scan and select the XR3000 Weigh Scale from the Available devices list. A pairing code will be displayed on the Android device only. Accept the code.
- The XR3000 will now be visible in the Paired Devices section.
To return to Hardware Connections, use the back button on the Tablet.
StockMate Settings
- From the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).
- Tap +Add Device, Weigh Scale.
Select options so the Hardware Connections screen will look like the screenshot below (Paired Device: select the device paired above). Tap Save.
Name the device clearly for easy selection, as multiple devices can be setup within StockMate.
Toggle to initiate the connection. A successful connection will be indicated by a green Bluetooth icon. Tap Close.
To test: Scan an EID, and record a weight on the Tru-Test XR3000 Weigh Scale indicator and it will be transferred to StockMate.
If data is not coming through to the Live Readings panel, it is likely the device settings are incorrect - or the connection is not established.
For troubleshooting tap on the device, and open the console. Send test data - if everything is setup correctly the raw data will be displayed in green.
Review error messages if applicable and action as required
Using in a Scan Session
To check Hardware connections, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon), and edit if required.
- From the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).
Toggle the Tru-Test XR3000 Weigh Scales device to connect.
The Bluetooth icon will turn green when successfully connected.
Serial: EID over Weigh Scale
EID reader
When the connection is established, the blue light on the Weigh Scale indicator stops flashing.
Do not pair the EID reader to the tablet - it should only be paired to the Weigh Scale indicator.
Weigh Scale Indicator Tru-Test XR3000
Turn on the XR3000.
Connect the Weigh Scale indicator to the load cells.
Connect the USB serial cable, as shown in the images below.
A USB-Serial adaptor (Serial to male USB) and a female adaptor for USB to required port for your tablet are needed to connect the Weigh Scale indicator to the Android tablet.
StockMate Settings
From the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).
- Tap +Add Device, Weigh Scale.
- Select options so the Hardware Connections screen will look like the screenshot below (USB Device: select the USB device). Tap +More serial settings to select additional details such as Data Bits, Parity and Stop Bits.
Tap Save.
Toggle to initiate the connection. A successful connection will be indicated by a green USB icon. Tap Close.
To test: Scan an EID, and record a weight on the Tru-Test XR3000 and it will be transferred to StockMate.
If data is not coming through to the Live Readings panel, it is likely the device settings are incorrect - or the connection is not established.
For troubleshooting tap on the device, and open the console. Send test data - if everything is setup correctly the raw data will be displayed in green.
Review error messages if applicable and action as required.
Using in a Scan Session

The USB icon will turn green when successfully connected.
Wi-Fi: EID over Weigh Scale
EID Reader
When the connection is established, the blue light on the Weigh Scale indicator stops flashing.
Do not pair the EID reader to the tablet - it should only be paired to the Weigh Scale indicator.
Weigh Scale Indicator Tru-Test XR3000
Connect the Weigh Scale indicator to the load cells.
Do not plug the Weigh Scale indicator into the power supply yet.
- Connect the Wi-Fi dongle to the serial port on the rear of the Weigh Scale indicator.
- Power up the modem/router. (Attach to external aerial if appropriate; ensure the SIM card is inserted if internet is required).
- Plug the Weigh Scale indicator into the power source and power up the Weigh Scale indicator. Switch on the Weigh Scale indicator if it does not come up automatically when connected to the power source.
Pairing Device
- From the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).
- Tap the Wi-Fi settings icon.
- Turn on Wi-Fi and select from the Available networks. You may be prompted for a password on first usage. The connected Wi-Fi network will be visible in the Current Network section.
To return to Hardware Connections, use the back button on the Tablet.
StockMate Settings
- From the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).
- Tap +Add Device, Weigh Scale.
- Select options so the Hardware Connections screen will look like the screenshot below (Populate IP Address and Port as required). Tap Save.
Toggle to initiate the connection. A successful connection will be indicated by a green Wireless icon. Tap Close.
To test: Scan an EID, and record a weight on the Tru-Test XR3000 Weigh Scale indicator and it will be transferred to StockMate.
If data is not coming through to the Live Readings panel, it is likely the device settings are incorrect - or the connection is not established.
For troubleshooting tap on the device, and open the console. Send test data - if everything is setup correctly the raw data will be displayed in green.

Using in a Scan Session
To use it in a scan session, use Hardware Connections to toggle required Devices on. Refer to Create New Scan Session – Session Setup (app) for further details.

Toggle the Tru-Test XR3000 Weigh Scales device to connect.
