UTAGS, offer hardware devices to scan custom electronic identification tags, to help reduce time on a number of stock management practices (scanning, processing etc) to maximise the well-being of livestock and staff.
The TagScan R2 has the ability to scan an NLIS device while scanning a UTAGS custom Visual Tag in quick succession to a StockMate Session, making identification logging in Branding and Induction (Arrival) Sessions, more streamlined.
The TagScan R1 & R2 both have the ability to send EID information to StockMate. To send EID detail from the TagScan R1 & R2, they need to be setup as a Handheld Reader in Hardware Connections; detailed below.
Additionally, the TagScan R2 can scan UHF Visual Tags to populate Visual Tag detail in StockMate Sessions - separate device setup required is detailed further down, under Bluetooth: UHF Visual Tag - TagScan R2 only.
StockMate Settings
From the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).
- Tap + Add Device, Handheld Reader.

- Select options so the Hardware Connections screen will look like the screenshot below.

- Ensure power supply is plugged into the TagScan R2s USB-A power outlet. Hardware will be powered ON.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon.

Scan for nearby Bluetooth devices and select the TagScan LFxxx from Available devices to Pair. Device will then be listed under Paired devices.
Tap back from the bottom task bar to return to StockMate.
- Select the Paired device from the Device Name dropdown and Save.

Toggle to initiate the connection. A successful connection will be indicated by a green Bluetooth icon.
A successful connection must be established before
proceeding.
Scan an NLIS button to test successful connection. EID will populate Live Readings.
To assist with device connection troubleshooting, tap the console button the view send/receive data.
As well as sending EID information, the TagScan R2 also has the ability to scan UHF Visual Tags to populate Visual Tag detail in a StockMate Session.
To send Visual Tag detail from the TagScan R2, it needs to be setup as a separate Panel Reader device in Hardware Connections; detailed below.
StockMate Settings
From the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).

elect options so the Hardware Connections screen will look like the screenshot below.

Ensure power supply is plugged into the TagScan R2s USB-A power outlet. Hardware will be powered ON.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon.

Scan for nearby Bluetooth devices and select the TagScan UHFxxx from Available devices to Pair. Device will then be listed under Paired devices.
Tap back from the bottom task bar to return to StockMate.
Select the Paired device from the
Device Name dropdown and
Save.

Toggle to initiate the connection. A successful connection will be indicated by a green Bluetooth icon.
A successful connection must be established before proceeding.
Scan a UHF Visual Tag to test successful connection. Visual Tag will populate Live Readings.
To assist with device connection troubleshooting, tap the console button the view send/receive data.
Using in a Scan Session
To use in a scan session, use Hardware Connections to toggle required Devices on.
Toggle ON connection of the TagScan R2 Handheld device to be able to send EIDs to a StockMate Session and Toggle ON connection of the TagScan R2 Panel Reader to also populate Visual Tag detail in a StockMate Session.
- In StockMate, from the StockMate Options Menu, tap Hardware Connections (top-right, comms icon).

Toggle the TagScan R2 devices required for your session, to connect.
