EBV Herds (web)

This section of the EBV functionality is to create EBV Herds and update EBVs against existing Herds. 
Work through each of the tabs to ensure all fields from the CSV file are mapped correctly and EBV data is linked to the relevant StockMate animals.

Administrator or Area Manager permission levels are required to access the EBV functionality.
Info
Importing EBVs requires, at the least, an Animals dataset Import Template AND Percentiles dataset Import Template.
Refer to EBV Import Templates (web) for further assistance.

Creating EBV Herds

  1. Select Breeding, EBVs, Herds.
  2. Select + New EBV Herd.

    Info
    Only select New EBV Herd for the initial creation of an EBV Herd; EBV Herds are to be recycled, so when updating EBVs, do not select + New EBV Herd.

  3. In the Value Mapping tab, select the file(s) to Import and their Import Templates
    1. Dataset 1 Animals, select the CSV File dropdown and Upload file... to browse for and select Import file.

      Select template from the Import Template dropdown.
    2. Mapped Animal data will be populated in a table. Any Data Issues will be highlighted to rectify before continuing to Animal Mapping.

      Idea
      Use Shift + Scroll to horizontally scroll through table to easily review data.
    3. Repeat for Dataset 2 Percentiles. File selected at 3a. will be available from dropdown to select, or select Upload file... to browse for new.
      Select an Import Template.

      Mapped Percentile data will be populated in a table.
    4. Optionally, select  to add Dataset 3 Trends, repeat step 3c.
  4. Select Continue to Animal Mapping.

  5. In Animal Mapping tab, review linked animals (table in white) with their corresponding EBV data (table in blue).

    Unlinked records can be Imported and can be linked later using the EBV Herds screen.
    1. To manually link an animal, select [None].
    2. Select , input the animal EID, Visual Tag, NLIS ID, Society ID or Beast ID, select .
      Info
      Animal Lookup supports wildcard characters. Represent a single unknown character with '?' or multiple with '*'.
    3. Select Link.
  6. Select Continue to Import into StockMate.
  7. In Import into StockMate tab, Enter Name and Analysis Date (required). Select Import into StockMate.
  8. EBV Data is now available in StockMate.
  9. To Edit EBV Herd Details, like Name and Analysis Date, select EBV Herd Details from EBV Herd.

    Make the relevant changes and select Save.

Updating EBV Herds

When updated EBV values are provided, use the existing EBV Herd to import the file against. This will update the EBVs against the animals using the latest available datasets.
  1. Select BreedingEBVsHerds.
  2. Select the Herd to update with new EBV data.
  3. Select Import EBVs.
  4. In the Value Mapping tab, select the file(s) to Import and their Import Templates
    1. Dataset 1 Animals, select the CSV File dropdown and Upload file... to browse for and select Import file.

      Select template from the Import Template dropdown.

    2. Mapped Animal data will be populated in a table. Any Data Issues will be highlighted to rectify before continuing to Animal Mapping.
