Setup Gallagher W-0 Weigh Scale (app)

The Gallagher W-0 is a Bluetooth low energy (BLE) Weight Scale device, that can output weight data to the StockMate App on Android Devices. The W-0 can send weight only; therefore a separate device will be required for sending EID information to StockMate. Refer to the Hardware Connections Overview (app) for further information.

Before use, check that the Weigh Scale indicator has the latest firmware installed. Contact the manufacturer for detail.

StockMate Settings

  1. From the StockMate Dashboard, tap More (three dots at top-right), Preferences.

  2. Tap Config.


  3. Tick Weight Scales Connected, Protocol: Gallagher W-0, Communication Method: Bluetooth.
    When the Protocol is selected StockMate will initiate a search to pair to the Gallagher W-0.


  4. After the search is complete; select options so the Hardware Connections screen will look like the screenshot below (Paired Device: will be the W-0, the name may vary). Tap Save & Test to establish the connection.
    When the connection has been successfully made, the Save & Test buttons will be green as well as the Scales BT button. Do not proceed unless this is the case.

    Demonstration of the setup process. 

  1. Send a stable weight to test the device.

Using In a Scan Session

To use in a scan session, from the Session Setup screen ensure Hardware Connections is ticked on. Refer to Create New Scan Session – Session Setup (app) for further details.
To check Hardware connections, tap Config, and edit if required.
An EID reader will also be required to scan animals into StockMate. See Hardware Connections Overview (app) for more information.
