Inter-Property Moves

Inter-Property Moves

Often when a company has multiple Properties, they will be split up into Management Areas and staff have limited access to their Management Area only. Inter-property movements provide a solution where both the sending and receiving Property can complete a session to ensure animals are correctly relocated within StockMate. Through a Handling: Inter-Property Exit/Arrival session the options exist to scan animals at both properties, use bulk movements or auto create the Inter-property Arrival based on the Inter-property Exit session.

Inter-Property Exit

When transferring animals from one property to another the sending property is required to create a Handling: Inter-property Exit session. They are able to nominate the internal property the animals will be going to, along with NVD numbers and other information. This session can be created either via Scan session (app or web), Bulk Session (app or web) or CSV import (web only).
On Session setup ensure the session type is Handling, and session subtype is Inter-Property Exit.
When animals have been through an Inter-property Exit, but not the corresponding Inter-property Arrival, in reporting their Property will remain as it was, and their Paddock will be In Transit.
Refer to Sessions Overview (app) or Sessions Overview (web) and related articles for further information on creating sessions.

Auto Copy Inter-Property Arrival (Web)

Once the animals physically arrive at the receiving property there are a few options: scan the animals into a Handling: Inter-Property Arrival session (or use a scan file to create an import CSV), or use auto create session to copy the animals and details from the Inter-property Exit session. This can be useful for when animals are unable to be scanned on arrival or when there is confidence in the accuracy of the Inter-property exit scans.

Tenant Settings

On the Web, adjust the Tenant Settings to allow for the auto copy of Inter-Property Exit sessions, into Inter-property Arrivals.
Administrator User Permissions are required to update Tenant Settings.
  1. Select Administration, Tenant Settings, Select Sessions. Tick Auto copy Inter-property Exit details to Inter-property Arrival session,
When the auto copy setting is on, a scan session for the Inter-property arrival can still be completed, if required.

Creating the Inter-property Arrival Session

To use the auto copy functionality on the web, a session can be created by the receiving property once the animals have arrived.
  1. Select Sessions, + New Scan Session.

  2. Fill in the New Session form - ensure Type: Handling, Sub Type: Inter-property Arrival.

  3. Select the corresponding Inter-property Exit Code.
The list of available session codes are dependent on the Session Date and Property.

  4. Select the Default Paddock, + Create Session.
A Default Paddock must be selected for the auto copy of scans to occur.

  5. The session will be auto-populated with the Animals, and NVD numbers from the corresponding Inter-property Exit session. The Property and Paddock for the animal will be as nominated in the New Sessions form.

Bulk Handling: Inter-property Arrival (Web)

Instead of scanning each animal individually once they have arrived, a bulk handling session can be created at the receiving property.
  1. Select Sessions. From the + New Scan Session drop down list, select New Bulk Handling Session.

  2. In the Bulk Handling screen, fill in the Session Name. Ensure Type: Handling, Sub Type: Inter-property Arrival.
  3. Input the IPE Property (Inter-Property Exit Property) and select the IPE Session Code from the drop down list, Load.
The paddock for the IPE Property will be (In Transit).

  4. Tick the animals in the Session. Select Continue to Scan Values.
  5. Input NVD, Property and Paddock. Select Create Session with scans for xx selected animals.
  6. Select View Created Session to view the Session.

Bulk Handing: Inter-property Arrival (App)

  1. On the Dashboard, tap Sessions.
  2. Tap + Bulk Session.
  3. Input Name, Session Type and Sub Type. Ensure the Session is a Handling: Inter-Property Arrival. Tap Create Session.

Scan/Import: Inter-property Arrival

When transferring animals from one internal property to another, the receiving property is required to create a Handling: Inter-property Arrival session. This session can be created either via Scan session (app or web), Bulk Session (app or web) or CSV import (web only).
On Session setup ensure the session type is Handling, and session subtype is Inter-Property Arrival.
Once the animals physically arrive at the receiving property, if the receiver would prefer not to use the auto-create session functionality to copy the animals and details from the Inter-property Exit session; they can scan the animals into a Handling: Inter-Property Arrival session or use a scan file to create an import CSV. Refer to Create New Scan Session – Scanning (app) or Create New Session – Import CSV (web) for further information on creating these sessions.
