Create New Session – Scan Session (web)

Scan sessions are used when scanning individual animals for Arrival, Handling and Exit.
  1. Select Sessions, + New Scan Session.

  2. Input details of the Scan Session, ensure that Scan is selected, + Create Session.

  3. Select + Add Animal.

  4. Manually input the EID, NLIS ID, Visual Tag, Alternate Tag or Society ID details of each animal who is a part of the current Scan Session. Select + Add Animal.
    Use  to switch between EID and NLIS ID.

  5. In the Scan details window, input any details required, select Save Changes.

    If new animals are being scanned, Property, Paddock and any Required fields must be entered prior to save.

  6. The animal is now added to the Scan Session.
  7. Additional animals can be manually added to the Scan Session via the web. Alternatively, the animals can be added to the same Session, via the app. The Session created on the web will be available in the app after sync. Refer to Edit Existing Session (app) for more details.
  8. To edit a Sessions details, select Session Details.

  9. Input a Label (optional) for the Session, Save.
    Session Labels can be used to cross reference with other systems, or easily review session based data.
    Multiple searchable labels can be added to a Session by pressing enter after each one. Session Labels are reported in Sessions Report and Treatment Report.

    Labels is a free text field containing alphanumeric characters. Users can input an identifier that suits their analytical purposes for example, for cross referencing to a paper based record for the animals in the session.

  10. Session Labels can be viewed on the Session List screen.
  11. To copy the Session Setup of an existing Session, on the Session List screen, select  (Save as a New Session).
  12. The new session modal will be populated with some of the details from the original session. They can be updated as required. The Property and Session sub-type is able to be changed. Input details of the Scan Session, select +Create Session.

    Changing the Property will not copy the Gates to the new session. New gates will be required to be setup and linked to the Draft Rules, as required.

  13. Alternatively the Session Setup of an existing session can be copied via the Session Setup screen. Select Save As, Save as a new Session.
