DNA Documents (web & app)

The StockMate App can be used when taking DNA samples to record the case number along with other details. When DNA documents are received they can be uploaded and saved against the animal on the web. The information can then be viewed in the scan screen, via the DNA Documents tab in Animal Lookup and other reports.
Info
A Breeding Module subscription is required to access DNA Document functionality.

DNA Documents on the Web

Animal Lookup

  1. Search the animal using Animal Lookup, select Breeding, +.

  2. Enter detail into the form, select Browse... and select the required file, Save.
    Info
    Case Number is a required field, the Save button will not become available until it has been entered.

    Laboratory contacts can be setup using Setup Contacts (web & app).

  3. To review a DNA document select the relevant line. The attached document will be downloaded.

  4. To delete a DNA document select .

Scan Screen

  1. Select + Add.

  2. Select  to browse and attach the file, fill in other fields, Save Changes.
  3. To view the attached document, select  to download the file.
  4. To delete select , Save Changes.

CSV Import

CSV Import can be used to apply and edit DNA document details. The available fields are DNA Type, DNA Case Number and DNA Lab. See Create New Session – Import CSV (web), Edit Existing Session – using Import/Export CSV (web) for further information.

Use the Lab contact code in the CSV Import file.
Providing an existing DNA Case Number in a CSV Import file will allow the DNA Laboratory and the DNA Type to be updated.
If the Case Number provided in the CSV Import file does not already exist in StockMate, a new DNA Document will be added to the animal.
Alert
The DNA Case Number cannot be updated using the CSV Import functionality.

Reporting

DNA reporting fields can be found in the Livestock Report, Follow-ups Report and Animals in Session Report. As mentioned above, the attached DNA documents can be downloaded from the Animal Lookup Breeding tab and the scan screen.

DNA Documents on the App

Scan Screen

  1. In Session Setup tick DNA so the card will be visible on the scan screen. Refer to Create New Scan Session – Session Setup (app) for further information.
    Select Laboratory and Type from the drop-down list. These are optional.
    The Laboratory and Type selected will apply to all animals scanned into the session.
    Refer to Setup Contacts (web & app) for instructions on adding to the drop-down list of Laboratories.

    The Laboratory drop-down list can only be set up on the Web. The options will be available on the App.
    The Type drop-down list is a set list and cannot be edited.

    Set the Focus Field as DNA Case Number, to easily add case number as soon as Scan Screen opens.


  2. Add an animal into the scan session, tap Add, fill in the information. Save and Close.

  3. To delete a DNA record tap .
